Las Candalistas Today

Our Mission and Focus

Las Candalistas is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed to promote the health and well-being of children and the environment in the Los Angeles South Bay community. As we begin our 50th year, we’re excited about new directions, opportunities and growth. While our mission is steadfast, our organization is evolving to keep up with our community’s outlook and needs. We’re redesigning our events and outreach to increase our impact. We’re also supporting new organizations and projects that will benefit numerous children and families. In all that we do, our focus will be on nurturing strong relationships — with our charities, donors, community and each other. To help achieve this goal, we’ve revamped our website and launched a newsletter for increased communication with our partners and supporters.

A Word from Our Leaders

I am honored to serve as the 2017-2018 President of Las Candalistas.  The members of Las Candalistas are a creative and passionate group of women that are dedicated to raising funds to benefit children and the environment in the South Bay.
Many thanks to our community for their continued support that has allowed us to contribute to so many worthy charities. This year promises to be another exciting and fun year and we look forward to seeing you at our two fundraisers, our Fall Event - Entertaining for the Holidays "Creative Entertaining" and our Spring Event  - "The Spirit of Ireland"
Irene Almeida, 2017-18 President

The reason I have been a member of Las Candalistas for 35 years is that I believe in the mission of the organization:  To raise funds to support the children and environment of the Southbay.  Through the years the members of this organization have demonstrated their dedication and creativity as they plan and execute each event with our selected philanthropies foremost in their minds.  As we begin our second fifty years, I am honored to serve as the chair of the Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 year.
