Our Mission and FocusLas Candalistas is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed to promote the health and well-being of children and the environment in the Los Angeles South Bay community. As we begin our 50th year, we’re excited about new directions, opportunities and growth. While our mission is steadfast, our organization is evolving to keep up with our community’s outlook and needs. We’re redesigning our events and outreach to increase our impact. We’re also supporting new organizations and projects that will benefit numerous children and families. In all that we do, our focus will be on nurturing strong relationships — with our charities, donors, community and each other. To help achieve this goal, we’ve revamped our website and launched a newsletter for increased communication with our partners and supporters.
Be Part of the Las Candalistas StoryThroughout the year, we’ll be sharing the story of our work, partnerships and collaborative achievements through our website, Facebook and other channels. We hope you’ll explore this website, use it to communicate with us and participate in our ongoing story.
A Word from Our Leaders
"I'm honored to serve as Las Candalistas President during this milestone year. As we look forward to celebrating our 50th Anniversary in 2017, my hope is that we will continue to grow and increase our contributions to worthy charities that benefit children and the environment in the South Bay. We have a strong heritage on which to build and I am grateful for all those who have come before us and paved the way for our successful fundraising efforts."Jennifer Sittel, 2016-2017 President
“Since joining Las Candalistas is 2005, I have always been very impressed by the hard work and dedication of the members, the officers and the directors on the Board. I hope that our present Board will continue to review and approve the actions of the Officers of Las Candalistas and will support the children and environment in the South Bay. During this next year, I look forward to helping the members achieve the highest possible success of our philanthropic organization.”
Marcia Butler, 2016-2017 Chair, Board of Directors
