EasyReaderNews: Spotlight on Charity – California Dreamin’

California Dreamin’ was the theme for this year’s Las Candalista annual Spring Event Fundraiser, held at the beautiful and exclusive Catalina View Gardens. Lively music greeted guests as they explored a marketplace and silent auction items. A panel of speakers described their California dreams come true. Among them were Nadine Nettman, certified sommelier and mystery writer; Jennifer Shaffer world-renowned psychic and Katrina Vanderlip, grandchild of Frank A. Vanderlip, “Father of Palos Verdes.” Katrina is the founder of the Vanderlip Heritage Fund whose mission is to promote history, art and nature on Palos Verdes Peninsula. Guests enjoyed lunch from FUEL by Chef Dora, Catalina View wines and craft beer by Strand Brewing Co.  “Staycations” were offered, courtesy of the Ranch at Laguna Beach and The Resort at Pelican Hill, Nancy Rosene and Malaga Cove TravelStore. Net proceeds benefit Community’s Child, Trinity KidsCare Hospice and 1736 Family Crisis Center.
